Accounts removed from the server
What happens to the backups of an account that no longer exists on the server (the customer cancelled). Two settings decide it; both come turned off (0). Decide before the first account is removed.
● available| Setting | What it does | 0 (default) |
|---|---|---|
| Account removed from the server: backups to keep | keeps only the newest N backups of the account and deletes the rest, the old JetBackup ones included | off: the job's retention applies and the latest backup of each item is kept forever |
| Account removed from the server: keep for | counted from the day Salvo saw the account no longer exists; after that, every backup of the account is deleted | no limit |
These settings delete backups
With either one on, backups of removed accounts are deleted, including JetBackup's. A customer who comes back after the period has no backup to restore.

Settings are listed and changed with config (the same checks as the screen):

# change one: use the key shown by --list
/var/lib/salvo/salvo config --set KEY=VALUE
