Schedules
Salvo has no permanent service: scheduled backups run when cron calls schedule-run every minute (one runner at a
time; a missed time is caught up within Settings › Retention & schedule › Catch up a missed backup within, 12 hours by default). Two things
must be on: the server's schedules (the cron file) and the job's schedule.
On the screen
- Server's schedules: Turn the schedules on, in the step 6 drawer of Bring from JetBackup (asks for the app code).
- Job's schedule: a job imported paused turns its schedule on when it is taken over.
On the command line
root@server
# turn the server's schedules on (writes /etc/cron.d/salvo-backup)
/var/lib/salvo/salvo schedules-enable
# only shows whether they are on and when they last ran
/var/lib/salvo/salvo schedules-enable --show
# each job's schedule, retention and next run
/var/lib/salvo/salvo schedule-show
The file schedules-enable writes:
/etc/cron.d/salvo-backup
* * * * * root /var/lib/salvo/salvo schedule-run --state /var/lib/salvo
Resume a job without taking it over
To run the Salvo schedule of a paused job while JetBackup keeps running it too (both back up):
root@server
/var/lib/salvo/salvo job-pause --job N --resume
To make Salvo the only owner and turn JetBackup's job off, use Take over a job instead.
